Drew’s Special Ride

• When: December 7th. 9.00 a.m.
• Start From: English side of Severn Bridge (see map above for exact location)
• How Far: 47 miles

The Ride

When you’ve fallen off your bike and had new body parts fitted, then all rides are special and this one is no exception.

The ride starts from this side of the Bridge and goes over the river Severn and the river Wye, which is always special. We then climb over Wentworth Woods to Brynbuga, that’s Usk to me and you. The ride then initially follows the river Usk before heading to Raglan for the lunch stop at the garden centre. We then head back to Chepstow via a hill which from this day forth will be known as the  “The No Gain without Pain of Elaine Hill” – can’t think why!!!!

Directions to Start

• Go to Bristol and go up the M32
• Join the M4 heading west.
• Bear left on the M48 (sp Chepstow).
• Turn off at jct 1 and take the first exit off the round about (heading south).
• Immediately turn right and park on right. This is the start of the left cycleway across the bridge.
• The journey will take approximately 50 mins from Radstock.

• I have a gpx file of the ride which should find its way onto the website soon.
• I will bring some copies of the route on a map to help those who want to get lost.

Why you should come?

This ride will take you along roads that you have never been on before and views that are the equal of the Mendips. All the roads are minor and almost traffic-free.

It will be a fine way to end your year of cycling and will lead on to similar rides being repeated next year.
