Somer Valley Cycling Club (SVCC) is inviting cyclists of all abilities to take part in its annual Mendip Madness sportive in 2021
This will be the eigth year the club will run the popular event, which offers the choice of a 60-mile (96km) or a 40-mile (64km) route over the Mendips, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Both circular routes start at Ston Easton Village Hall and take in Cheddar Gorge and the Somerset Levels. The date is still to be confirmed.
Facilities provided include refreshments at the start; feed stations; emergency backup; free tea, coffee and cakes at the finish line; and a finisher’s certificate.
This year’s routes will only be on GPX, NOT signposted. A booking system will be made available to book a time slot for you and your group (size depending on the covid rules at the time) Routes available on somervalley.org.uk.
Event organiser Guy Worsdall comments: “This sportive aims to take riders to parts of the Mendips that others don’t! We can’t promise great weather, but we can promise fantastic routes with panoramic views of the the best in the west, and some great cakes!”
